  • Australia offers a diverse range of study options for international students, with more than 1,200 institutions and over 22,000 courses to choose from.
  • You can study at all levels of education from primary and secondary school, to vocational education and training (VET), from English language courses to higher education (including universities).
  • Regardless of what you are studying or how long you are studying for, Australia’s laws promote quality education and protection for international students.
  • The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2007 (National Code) provide nationally consistent standards for providers of education and training for international students.
  • As an international student on a student visa, you must study with an institution and in a course that is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Qualifications certify the knowledge and skills that a person has achieved through study, training, work and life experience. They are a measure of Australia’s intellectual capital, which is increasingly important in a society where unskilled jobs have disappeared and continuous upskilling is required in all forms of work and in day-to-day life.

An AQF qualification is recognised all around Australia and by other countries.

The Framework links together all the qualifications and is a highly visible, quality-assured national system of educational recognition that promotes lifelong learning and a seamless and diverse education and training system.

School, work-based qualifications and academic qualifications are part of a single system of qualifications, allowing maximum flexibility in career planning and continuous learning.

The AQF groups the qualifications according to the educational sector responsible for their accreditation.

Guidelines for each qualification are provided in the AQF Implementation Handbook.

Hellenic Australian Consulting Services will guide you through the selection of a pathway through this system for the best possible outcome for you and will guide you through the entire process from application for visa through to enrolment with the registered training provider. Our experienced and qualified staff are keen to help you in achieving your objectives in any way we can.
